Details
Your Merit Account number or Merit Quote number must be entered. If we cannot identify you, it is your responsibility to have your payment identifiable with your account number, your name, your email (such that even if one is wrong, we can puzzle it out for you). A Convenience Fee for System Access shall be added to the total amount which shall be used to cover the costs for convenience use of these systems (this fee amount might be less than actual out of pocket costs incurred). You have the option of using other payment mechanisms, and convenience fees are necessary for paying property taxes, mortgages, insurance, and others where the product sold is a financial obligation determined and priced without additional administration fees which materially impact underwriting. Merit negotiates the lowest possible Convenience Fee while these costs are complex and inherent within the fintech digital payment world. If you don't have a system access fee on a Canadian credit card or debit card payment, the cost of it is priced-in already. Merit chooses to be transparent for your understanding and benefit. You can avoid any System Access Fee by using PAP/PAD pre-authorized banking withdrawal where Merit absorbs 100% of the cost of the payment for you (Canadian bank fees are relatively nominal compared to credit card processors). The Convenience fee only is applied to pay associated fees with transactions incurred, and we respectfully offer you this option at or below our cost averaging just over 3.5% of amount charged using these specialized and advantaged methods. The fee will be added to your payment, integrated into a single payment amount, and disclosed based on each payment you set up. Your insurance payments are most affordable, flexible and accessible with MeritPay because of options that are now available to save you time and effort.
